World’s largest ETF servicer joins the leading financial institutions backing TXSE’s mission to bring greater choice to U.S. equity markets
DALLAS, October 27, 2026 — TXSE Group, the parent company of the Texas Stock Exchange, today announced an equity investment from State Street, the world's largest ETF servicer and a pioneer of the U.S. ETF market. The investment further broadens the coalition of leading global financial institutions backing TXSE’s mission to bring greater choice to U.S. equity markets.
“Few firms have a deeper view of what sponsors and investors need from an exchange than State Street,” said TXSE Group Chairman and CEO James H Lee. “Their investment represents another significant institutional validation of what we have built at TXSE, and the growing demand from the largest global financial firms for more choice in our public markets."
State Street Investment Management pioneered the U.S. ETF market with the launch of SPY in1993 and remains one of the world’s leading ETF managers, with approximately $2.3 trillion in reported ETF assets as of September 30, 2026. As the world’s largest ETF servicer¹, State Street also provides custody, fund accounting, basket creation and other essential services to fund sponsors.
“Texas is an important market for State Street and many of the clients we serve, and a technology innovation hub for our firm,” said Ronald P. O’Hanley, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of State Street. “Our investment in TXSE reflects our confidence in the continued growth of Texas as a center for financial services and capital markets innovation, and in market infrastructure that gives our clients more ways to access and participate in U.S. capital markets.”
State Street joins other TXSE Group equity holders including BlackRock, the world's largest institutional manager; Charles Schwab, the world's largest retail organization; Citadel Securities, the world's largest global liquidity provider; as well as J.P. Morgan, Goldman Sachs, and Bank of America, three of the largest global investment banks.
